Report: EBR activities during the ECR 2019

The first activities of the EBR within the framework of the European Congress of Radiology date back to 2011. This was the first year an examination took place at the ECR.

The EBR was founded in order to coordinate the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR). Now, eight years later, the EBR is in charge of two more projects: the Accreditation Council in Imaging (ACI), and the European Training Assessment Programme (ETAP 2.0).

All the centres that have already undergone the ETAP 2.0 certification process have described their experience as a very positive one. The ETAP staff were very honoured to have one of the most special booths at the Congress, an Airstream trailer dedicated to the ETAP and parked just outside the ACV.

275 candidates took the EDiR examination during the ECR 2019. The EDiR also featured in the Scientific Programme with two conferences: A Coffee and Talk Session called “The European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) as an instrument to develop a professional career” on Friday, March 1 and an EDiR Session entitled “An instrument to develop excellence in your career” on Saturday, March 2. For the second year, the EDiR´s ‘Question of the Day’ generated a very positive response on February 28, March 1 and March 2. To wrap up on the subject of EDiR, we were also happy to welcome all those interested in the examination at the EDiR Airstream booth, which could also be found outside of the ACV.

There was also a booth dedicated to the Accreditation Council in Imaging in the M-Building, and several updates on ACI were presented in different UEMS meetings.

The EBR was also involved in many meetings with national societies, and all the EBR working committees had the opportunity to meet during the ECR 2019.

The agenda was intense but we are very happy with the outcome of this fantastic and ever-growing ECR. In the articles that follow you will find more detailed information about our work.

We are looking forward to meeting you all next year at ECR 2020!
